Australia and UK to Cooperate on CEAFAR radar
Australia and the United Kingdom have signed a joint statement to deepen cooperation on the Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar capability supplied by Canberra-based Company CEA Technologies Pty Limited.
The joint statement recognises the strategic importance of collaboration between both nations’ defence departments and defence industries and commits Australia and the United Kingdom to working closely together to implement the AESA radar initiatives announced at AUKMIN, says Defence in a media release.
CEA Technologies and UK-based QinetiQ welcomed the opportunity to support this partnership, which will strengthen defence industry cooperation and capability between Australia and the United Kingdom.
The joint statement was signed at CEA Technologies in Canberra and witnessed by Pat Conroy, Minister for Defence Industry, and Luke Pollard, the UK Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry.
Ministers Conroy and Pollard also discussed accelerating defence industrial cooperation and strengthening industrial resilience through closer government and industry collaboration, Defence added. They reaffirmed the enduring Australia-United Kingdom partnership and their commitment to AUKUS, which continues to strengthen security and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
