Sydney to Host IAC2025
SIAA, in partnership with the Australian Space Agency, NSW Government and BE Sydney, will host the 2025 International Astronautical Congress, IAC2025, in Sydney. The IAC was last held in Australian in 2017 when the announcement was made that Australian would form its own Space Agency.
Head of the Australian Space Agency Enrico Palermo said hosting the IAC provides “a unique chance to show how far Australia has advanced as a space-faring nation”.
SIAA CEO, James Brown commented that “Australia has both a proud history and a bright future in the global space industry. We are a pivotal partner for global space missions and a responsible voice in maintaining the sustainability of space. Bringing the world’s biggest annual space congress to Sydney shows the optimism for Australia’s space industry and the global demand for Australia’s space tech and talent.”
James Brown said, “Many thanks to all who have supported this bid both in the lead up to and during the IAC. We could not have achieved this milestone without your support.”
SIAA said in a statement it looks forward to welcoming the international space community to Sydney in 2025 and showcasing the Australian space sector to the world.
