Labor names Ministers for key technology portfolios
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has named his first Cabinet, with a couple of surprise announcements. To nobody’s surprise, Deputy Leader Richard Marles MP has selected the Defence portfolio for his front-bench job; and Defence Industry is no longer an inner cabinet role. The new Ministers are:
- Minister for Defence – The Hon. Richard Marles MP
- Minister for Defence Industry and Minister for International development and the Pacific – The Hon. Pat Conroy MP (Outer Cabinet)
- Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Personnel – The Hon. Matt Keough MP (Outer Cabinet)
- Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Cyber Security – The Hon. Clare O’Neill MP
- Minister for Industry and Science – The Hon. Ed Husic MP
- Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government – The Hon. Catherine King MP
- Minister for Skills and Training – The Hon. Brendan O’Connor MP
