KBR to support more resilient ADF SATCOM services

Adelaide-based KBR has been selected as the ADF’s industry partner to sustain Aggregated Monitoring and Control (AM&C) of Satellite Earth Stations. The company will deliver sustainment services that ensure the ADF has a more modern, assured and resilient satellite communications service.

The program of work will be supported by Perth-based SME Blacktree Technology and US company Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc.

An initial program of work was awarded to another KBR company, Sydney-based Clearbox Systems Pty Ltdwhich has successfully designed and implemented a remote, centralised monitoring and control system for the earth stations located across Australia. Clearbox System’s role continues to focus on the provision of remote, centralised operation of SATCOM ground and space assets in Australia and overseas and aggregating operation of these assets.

“We have brought together the best of Clearbox System’s capabilities with KBR’s world leading Deployed ICT skills,” said KBR Vice President GS APAC Nic Maan. “Our solution will provide Defence with more efficient, secure and capable communications.”

The contract aligns with KBR’s recent MINERVA contract under Project SEA2273 where the company is equipping the Royal Australian Navy with a more modern Fleet Information Environment.
