Canberra-based Raytheon Australia has been awarded a $277 million contract extension to continue managing the Ryal Australian Navy’s (RAN’s) Collins-class combat system. This extension allows Raytheon Australia’s local team and local and international partners such as General Dynamics Mission Systems to continue delivering combat system capabilities for the RAN; it also supports a training pipeline for engineers and technicians as the RAN integrates new capabilities.
“This contract extension reinforces Raytheon Australia’s 25 years of expertise as the Collins-class submarine combat system partner,” says Ohad Katz, Raytheon Australia’s managing director.
Raytheon Australia has supported the Collins-class submarines since their introduction in the mid-1990s, The team operates mainly from Perth’s Henderson Shipyard and HMAS Stirling, with additional services provided from Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide and from Sydney.
