Lockheed Martin Global Supply Chain Program surpasses $225M milestone with Australian industry

Canberra-based Lockheed Martin Australia’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) Program has surpassed $225 million in export contracts awarded to Australian industry partners. This milestone strengthens Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities and increases the resilience of its global supply chains, the company said in a media release.

The milestone underscores Lockheed Martin Australia’s standing as a trusted partner to Australian companies delivering advanced manufacturing, precision engineering, systems integration and sustainment solutions around the world. It came only a few days before the company announced it would start manufacturing up to 4,000 Guided Multiple Launch Rockets System (GMLRS) projectiles at Port Wakefield for the Australian and US Armies and for approved export customers.

With dedicated teams in Australia and the United States, Lockheed Martin’s Office of Australian Industrial Participation (OAIP) identifies and aligns Australian industry capabilities with opportunities across Lockheed Martin’s global supply chains and those of its principal partners. These opportunities are assessed against global best-value benchmarks to ensure Australian industry is positioned to compete successfully against other suppliers.

Over the past 12 months, Lockheed Martin Australia has signed contracts under the GSC Program with 25 Australian industry partners including Quickstep, Ronson Gears, Norseld, Q-CTRL and Advanced Navigation.  The Lockheed Martin capabilities and solutions supported by Australian companies under the GSC Program include the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise, C-130J Super Hercules, and UH-60 Black Hawk, in addition to multiple sensors and optical systems, cyber security systems, quantum sensing, satellites, navigation systems, the company adds.

Since Lockheed Martin Australia established its GSC program in 2011 it has grown in scale and scope across air, land, sea and cyber domains.

“Exceeding $225 million in export contracts demonstrates the value Lockheed Martin Australia brings to Australian industry by opening doors to international opportunities,” said Toni Marzulli, Vice President Operations, Lockheed Martin Australia and New Zealand. “Through our Global Supply Chain Program, we are helping Australian businesses scale, compete and succeed on the world stage. Australian suppliers are now firmly embedded across Lockheed Martin’s international supply chains, providing critical components, software and services that support some of the most complex defence and aerospace programs globally.”

Strong demand across key Lockheed Martin programs, including GMLRS and the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), is creating new opportunities for Australian companies to serve as second-source suppliers, enhancing supply chain resilience and expanding their role internationally.

“The growing role of Australian suppliers within our programs reflects the confidence placed in local industry to deliver with the skills, scale and quality required, while also strengthening the resilience of our global supply chains,” said Christopher Hess, Head of Industrial Development, Lockheed Martin Australia.
