DroneShield Unveils 3D planning tool for Counter-UAS defences
Sydney-based DroneShield Limited has announced the release of a sophisticated online platform for building bespoke counter-drone (C-UAS) solutions for any location.
Hosted in the DroneShield Access Portal, the Planning Tool provides a way for customers to visualise the different elements that make up DroneShield’s layered C-UAS solution, such as coverage areas of its sensors, the company says. This helps with detailed arrangements to build a 3D custom layout to protect their prospective site(s), such as a military base or a civilian installation.
DroneShield is one of a number of companies believed to have received a Request for Tender to provide a Counter Small Uncrewed Aerial System (C-SUAS) system for Army under Project LAND156. The Systems Integration Partner (SIP) it is looking for will deliver options for a C-SUAS Command and Control system as well as implement and design the overall system.
“The DroneShield Access Portal has always been a key differentiator for us, providing the shortest path between our R&D teams and the end user in the field,” commented Angus Bean, DroneShield’s Chief Technology Officer. “Anything that smooths out that process allows our customers to stay at the forefront of the race between drones and counter-drone technology.”
Creating plans via the Planning Tool is intuitive, DroneShield says, allowing an organisation to look ahead at its future needs, including detailed breakdowns of costs, power, and network requirements, across different potential options. Once one or more plans are chosen by the client, a few clicks can make it a reality, the company adds. DroneShield can also undertake the required on-site installation and training to provide a comprehensive solution.
Existing customers can enjoy another new feature on the DroneShield Access Portal – a streamlined firmware updater, says the company. As larger organisations deploy more and more C-UAS sensors, DroneShield has provided this tool to more effectively manage the regular software updates delivered to keep every device on the cutting edge of performance in a constantly changing landscape. This makes it easier for clients to track their subscriptions and easily download the newest and most up-to-date AI models delivered every quarter. These updates allow every DroneShield product to perform at their best.
These additions follow the launch by DroneShield of the UAS Incident Platform within its Access Portal last month, reporting drone activities and emerging drone threats globally, to enhance situational awareness for its customers.
